The Tortoise Won The Race ! !

Welcome to Projekt Freedom! This website is a journey I am taking to achieve a lifestyle I have dreamed of for the last 10 years. It is my ticket to having good health, spending more time with loved ones and securing my finances. And it is also about YOU.

I want to share my successes with you and after spending years online help you to avoid the same mistakes I have made. So please look around, take your time, learn and of course if you have any questions I’d be more than happy to answer them before you get started on the path to creating your own personal success story.

It All Began …

In 2008, in Tokyo of all places. I was teaching English conversation to Japanese students. The students were very nice but it was an awfully exhausting job. You see, it was treated strictly as a business over there so it was run like a factory line. We had seven to eight hours of face to face instructing every day with only a lunch break. There were no benefits or job security.

One night in my $1000 a month room, I was looking at the walls and saying to myself there is gotta be a better way to live. I wanted so much more. Heck, I just wanted job security, a little extra money to do things I really enjoy and simply more time to spend with the folks I cared about. Suddenly, this brilliant idea came to me; why not try to earn some cash online?

This is What Happened …

Wow! Once I started surfing the web, I saw opportunities galore. It was like the wild west and I wasn’t sure which opportunities would work best. I’ve tried them although surveys, multi-level-marketing, e-commerce, affiliate programs, drop shipping, list building and content marketing. I have spent thousands of dollars on programs and coaches and countless hours trying to figure out the “secret” to success.

It was difficult to do. do it. Oh sure, I made progress and learned tons about the online business world. I have met some wonderful people but also a lot more that don’t really care about their members’ well-being. I am old school and at that time often upset with the level of service and lack of human contact during much of the process and as a result many of the programs I gave up on before I had given myself a chance of succeeding. Actually all of them.

The Most Important Thing I’ve Learned …

Fast forward to 2018. The most significant piece of information I can pass on is to never give up. Those that succeed have focus, stackability, persistence. Whatever you want to call it. It doesn’t matter which method you use. You may belong to Drop Shipping Life Style, Inbox Blue Print, Self-Made Man, The Fletcher Method or like me Wealthy Affiliate. They all work. They all have successful members. I imagine there are many more. The only way you can achieve your goals is to stick with it.

So here I am 10 years later a middle-aged, unemployed, homeless (living with my folks) and carrying a large amount of debt and yes life has gotten in the way sometimes but I am finally on the right track. I am on my way to manifesting my dreams ones I often questioned before. I am working hard, consistently sticking with it, making progress and seeing amazing results. Before I know it I will be debt free, in my very own home and be helping many others do the same.

What Can I Do For You Right Now?

Well, please look around my site. There will be reviews and posts. Information and advice. Choose and pick what is most beneficial to you. Of course, I would like to see you be a part of the community at Wealthy Affiliate. However, you need to choose the program or method best for yourself and your character. For example, shy folks as compared to outgoing people may find different methods more suitable to their personalities.

Just, please remember, the most important thing is to persevere. Really, complete whatever program you sign up for and I can assure you success will follow. Also, you don’t need to spend a fortune to make money online. You can if you want but if you’d like an inexpensive method with quality instruction Wealthy Affiliate or The Fletcher Method and I am sure there are others. Do some due diligence first. My site should help with that.

I am here to help in any way I can. Feel free to leave a comment or send me an email. I have years of knowledge in the online world especially advice on what not to do. I am honest, not a “guru” but I have much to offer you and I will never mislead anyone.

All The Best,

Devan, (aka Kewl Web)

  1. Good 4 u Devan. I am not looking 2 start anything new, I have always had my own drywall company, semi-retired, last 10 winters in DR. This is a great read. Best Wishes. Rob

    1. Hi Rob. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my website. Wow, that’s fantastic spending the winters down south. I hope one day I will be able to do the same. Enjoy the rest of your holiday and maybe I’ll see you around town this summer. All The Best. Devan

  2. Wonderful story Devan.

I read your post “Why Start a Small Business Online” and wanted to have better insight into your experiences. It is evident you have the knowledge to provide helpful information to those thinking about starting an online business.

    Cheers
    Paul

    1. Hi Paul – thanks for visiting my website. I appreciate your comments. I have spent much of my life learning from business people in a variety of corporations.

One of the benefits of having been an English Language Consultant in Japan. 🙂

I had a quick look at your site and it certainly has a lot of good info too for people wanting to work from home.

      Cheers, Devan

  3. Unlike you I have not been pursuing an online business for very long but I’m always looking to learn, even from my mistakes.

I have come across several interesting programs but when I looked closer, they were only good at getting you in the front door and then there wasn’t much more to see after that or they wanted a lot of money to see behind the big curtain.

I initially thought that Wealthy Affiliate was a scam or a get rich quick scheme but I quickly found out it was about great training and tools to build your business. I learned so much in my first week and had even built three websites by then. It truly is a wonderful program.

    1. Hey Rick,

Thanks so much for dropping by my site.

Wow you are a real go getter! Three websites already. As you can see from my profile I am the go slow and steady kind of guy. It takes me a while to get the hang of things. I was always a “C” student in school. I am making great progress though.

Right on schedule. I imagine by the end of the year I will be making a full-time income on the internet. A real accomplishment for me and if I can do it so can others!

It is hard to distinguish the scams from the real thing these days. I tend to look at the owners and how they sell or market their product. Are they genuine? Honest? Do they use scare tactics or fear to intimidate the clients? How they behave will tell us lots about their business.

What kind of niches are you involved in?

I hope you are doing well!

      Best regards,

      Kewl

  4. Hi Devan,

Thanks for sharing your great story and your experiences on starting your online business.
Truly ,experience is the best teacher and perseverance is always the key to Success.

Your shared experience is already great learning for someone who reads your story. This too is very inspiring and reminding us that success does not come to those who does not persevere.

We may be slow (like a turtle)in what we are doing today but if we continuously putting the effort and have that “perseverance” attitude ,we will surely finish the race and Get what we truly deserve.

Thanks again for the inspiration !
Continue to be an inspiration to all your readers.
    .

    To Your Success.
